Summer showers

Blissfully spent this three day weekend sleeping, getting rained in and doing balcony gardening.

I am now the proud grower of three tomato plants plus one pot of rosemary.
Here it is, behind the lazy cat. Both pics shot with my iPhone 3GS. Damn thing shots pretty decent close-up pictures in daylight and a steady hand.

The fact he managed to bite one of the trinkets off is not that funny though. But fixable.

Last days

I should probably call this my "time flies" ring.


And did I mention that Spyros is having a blast here in Samos?

Yesterday's outfit, quite representative of what I've been wearing these last few days of 2010 while being back home for the holidays.

I've mentioned before that I'm not a big fan of new year's resolutions. If you really want to change something in your life, the different number on the date won't really matter. But, since it's that time of the year again and everyone else is blurting out theirs, here are my own resolutions for the future: Less shopping and more DIY projects, less going-out and more staying in and appreciating my lovely home, less lazying around and more getting things done. Oh, and wearing more lipstick.

Grey shoes, grey cat, grey mood

New grey oxfords by Massimo Dutti, an impulse buy at the airport. Yes, I know they look like manshoes, many people have told me already. Not always in a tactful way. Forked out the 75 euros nevertheless. Buttery-soft grey leather, gold and silver tiny studs on the back and timeless old-man style justify the asking price.



Kitten snubbed them at first, jumped in for a first taste of the shoelaces a few seconds after this picture was taken.

Kitty has taste, lacks manners

Apparently, our newly adopted kitten really likes shoes. Not wearing them, more like chewing on them. And the newer the shoes, the happier he is. I think Alecca has a similar issue with her own Persian beauty, who is quite appropriately named Miu.

Here he is showing some "love" to my latest obsession, those yummy snakeskin flats by Bronx, yet another of my favourite footwear brands. Got those beauties in Amsterdam last month, for €30 down from €60 and I've already declared them as my new favourite sandals. How could I not?

Oh my, what a horrible blogger I've been, right?
Well, you can see my excuse directly above. My sister and I found this little kitten in our yard last Wednesday, the day we flew back to Samos. With our luggage, this time. We haven't decided yet on the little one's name, so if you know any cool male kitten names, then by all means, fire away!

Oh, and I've been too lazy to edit all of the pictures I want to show you from Amsterdam. If you still want to see some, I'll get to it this week, promise!
