After The Rain Comes The Sun

Shoes/Zapatos: Friis & Company, Shorts/Pantalon Corto: Zara, Bag/Bolso: Friis & Company, Sweater/Jersey: Zara

Back in Barcelona and my new status is "really busy at work". Can't stop thinking about Paris but I'm glad I'm back so I can be close to the people I love :)
Today I wanted to present a very simple look in gray shades. I love this sweater; it's perfect for this time of year.
xoxo

Paris Fashion Week Day 5

Every time I go to Paris I fall in love. Either with a bag, a pair of shoes, the streets, the Eiffel Tower, the romantic cafés or even the air! It's officially one of my favorite cities in the world. I'm so depressed I'm not there anymore but I will be back soon!
My last day in Paris I went to the Chloé show. Chloé is one of my favorite brands and I'm so happy I was one of the first people who saw the new collection. It was great! Beautiful and romantic dresses, very elegant and very French. Hot high golden heels and soft neutral colors. Nirvana!!!
I was wearing a short dress from H&M, burgundy shoes while holding a vintage Trussardi bag.
I hope you like my last Paris look.
xoxo

EDVARD MUNCH AND THE STREET STYLE THING

Posted by Fashion Junior at Large (in Paris)
A tuileries poser (see fashionologie.com)
Back when I was a reader of this blog, I recall an account of the blogger's catwalk phenomenon that occurs before each show at the Tuileries during fashion week. This morning, I actually experienced this a tiny bit for myself as I accompanied the FashEd to Viktor and Rolf. Although it was pretty remarkable, I knew it had been well documented here and elsewhere before so didn't think much more of it. That is until I paid a visit to the Edvard Munch exhibition currently taking place at the Pompidou Centre.

I think we all recognise this holding the camera at arms length to capture a self-portrait. Classically known as the 'my-space' pose
His obsession with taking his own picture and painting his own portrait struck a chord in the context of the slightly bizarre Tuileries scene where people know that if they dress right, the street snappers will come running- they're turning themselves into subjects just as much as Munch did himself, even if they don't actually end up taking the picture. In exactly the same way as today's subjects, Munch would experiment with different looks, settings and angles.

Of course, he wasn't trying to show how stylish he was, nor was he attempting to become some kind of star simply by taking cool photos of himself but he was most definitely exploring a facet present in us all to some degree; our fascination with our own image.

The exhibition notes explain that Munch took to painting himself at least once a year so that by the end of his life he had over 40 self- portraits, not to mention many more pictures taken on his Kodak Bull's Eye camera which he purchased in Berlin in 1902. I couldn't help imagining what Munch might have made of today's prolific self-portraiture as facilitated by blogs, tumblrs and twitter. But most of all I thought he was a great example of how this level of wonderment about our own image and that of fellow humans is really no new thing. He was perhaps one of the first people to have opportunity to properly indulge it. And now we are positively swamped with chances, we can spend all day posing and snapping if we really want to.

In Borne

Shoes/Zapatos: Topshop, Bag/Bolso: Balenciaga, Shorts/Pantalon Corto: H&M, Top/Camiseta: Zara, Shirt/Camisa: H&M, Bracelets and Ring/Pulseras y Anillo: Friis & Company

Barcelona is a magical place; everybody (including myself) gets the city vibe, walks on the streets, and admires the beautiful views! I like to walk around, it relaxes and refreshes me a lot.
Autumn arrived but the temperatures are still high which is great because I'm still dressing up with my favorite summer clothes!
Tomorrow I'm flying to Paris where I guess I'm gonna wear light clothes as the temperatures are high which is weird for this time of year.
I like it :)

Paris Fashion Week Part 2

I REALLY WANTED TO PUBLISH EVERYDAY BUT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY TIME. I WAS RUNNING FROM ONE SHOW TO ANOTHER ON HEELS BUT IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT.
IT'S THE SECOND TIME I WENT TO THE COSTUME NATIONAL SHOW AND I LIKED THIS ONE MORE THAN THE PREVIOUS ONE. I WOULD ACTUALLY WEAR ALL THE DESIGNS. MINIMALISTIC AND GEOMETRICAL CUTS AND INTENSE COLORS WERE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE A/W 2011-1012 SEASON.
KENZO WAS MORE BOHEMIAN WITH DARK COLORS WHICH IS NOT TOO MUCH MY STYLE BUT I LIKED THE SHOW A LOT.
ON MY SECOND DAY IN PARIS I WAS WEARING RED LEATHER PANTS FROM ZARA, A FURRY VEST AND BLACK BOOTS.
NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAD AN AMAZING TIME GOING TO GREAT SHOWS AND PARTIES AND MEETING COOL PEOPLE. I'M REALLY GRATEFUL.
I HAVE A LOT MORE PICTURES TO PUBLISH SO STAY TUNED.
XOXO
